Man stabbed in neck while parting fighting women

A 49-year-old man was last evening rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) with a severe stab wound after he attempted to part a fight between his partner and another woman.

According to a sister–in-law, security guard Eon Davidson of Lot 60, East La Penitence in the city had intervened in a fight between his partner and another woman when “somehow one a dem plunge a kitchen knife into he neck”. The incident occurred close to his home around 8 last evening.

She said that the man, a father of 8, was immediately picked up and rushed to the GPH, noting that he was conscious during this time. Later, she told Stabroek News that the man began to lose consciousness while he was being given oxygen as he experienced problems breathing.

He was later taken to the main operating theatre at the hospital where doctors were attempting to remove the 6-7 inch long knife which was stuck behind the ride side of his neck.

Relatives of the man noted that he was told by persons at the scene to leave the arguing duo and moments later he was attacked by one of the women.

The matter was reported to the East La Penitence Police Station. Two persons were held by the lawmen in relation to the incident.
