Boy crushed to death in Kwakwani accident

A 17-year-old boy was yesterday afternoon crushed to death by a skidder while the machine was pulling logs along the UNAMCO trail at Kwakwani in Region 10.
Dead is Daniel Singh of Kwakwani and of Georgetown.

Reports are that late yesterday afternoon, Singh, whose biological parents died sometime ago, was travelling along the area on the skidder when tragedy struck.
A source in the area noted that the young man was flung off of the vehicle after it hit a bump along the trail. He reportedly fell off of the vehicle and he was crushed by one of the wheels.

The boy was relatively new to the area, a resident noted last evening  and he started  working at a logging concession several weeks ago.

Singh’s body was taken to the Kwakwani District Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

His remains are at the hospital mortuary and the police are investigating the incident.
