Lindeners rally round fire victim, donate $100,000

Several small businesses and individuals around Linden have pooled resources to present over $100,000 to Lennox Wilson and his family who lost their business in a recent early morning fire.

The donation drive was an initiative spearheaded by the Angel Network organization. Most of the small business owners, residents and even children donated to the fund.  Some persons also provided material support and others pledged their expertise in rebuilding Wilson’s shop.

Spokesperson for the Angel Network Dr Joseph Haynes said his organization was moved by Wilson’s plight and as such it rallied Lindeners to his aid. The money was presented to Wilson on Wednesday. An emotional Wilson said over the years he had attempted to garner community support for other business persons who had suffered losses. “I was never successful in doing this so I made personal donations to persons, I never thought the tables would have turned,” he said.
