Eight-acre ganja field destroyed

An eight-acre field under cultivation with cannabis sativa (marijuana) plants was on Wednesday last discovered during a drug eradication by police ranks at Kamuni Creek.

According to a police press release, the field contained about 12,000 plants at an average height of five feet. Four nurseries with approximately 80,000 seedlings, 40 kilogrammes, of dried cannabis and a tarpaulin camp were also discovered and were destroyed along with the plants.
