Inconsistency

Dear Editor,

Last year, Mr Jagdeo sounded quite statesman-like when he appealed to Buxtonians to forget occurrences of the past, so that the nation of Guyana could go forward with peace and compromise, but within a short while after that plea, Mr Jagdeo went to Babu John, Port Mourant and called on listeners to remember and to tell their young ones about the ills that the PNC government had done.

Now that Mr Jagdeo is on the active campaign trail, he is (a) seeking to revive specific memories about the past and (b) is publicly vowing that under his presidency attorney-at-law Nigel Hughes would never be appointed a senior-counsel. I view these remarks as confrontational.

Not to be outdone, we have Clement Rohee calling Moses Nagamootoo a hypocrite for leaving the PPP/C to join the AFC, but for Mr Rohee it was ok for Joe Hamilton, Peter Ramsaroop, and Gillian Burton (for example) to defect to the PPP/C.

Yours faithfully,
Morris Wilson
