$37.1 million contract green-lit for Kumaka market tarmac

The residents of Kumaka, Mabaruma will soon get a new tarmac at their market in the North West District of Region One.

Cabinet Secretary Dr. Roger Luncheon announced yesterday that cabinet has given its no-objection to a $37.1 million contract for the construction of the facility.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government Colin Croal yesterday informed Stabroek News that mobilization and subsequent construction of the tarmac will begin immediately.

Luncheon also announced that Cabinet has given its no objection to a contract for the Public Works Ministry to buy $124.3 million worth of marine motors for the Transport and Harbours Department.

The Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, Luncheon also said, has been also given the green-light to buy $345.3 million worth of drugs and supplies for the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation while $19.9 million was awarded for drugs and supplies for the Ministry of Health.

Cabinet also gave its no-objection to a contract for the Ministry of Legal Affairs to get a new collection of law books at a cost of £56,300.
