Two men shot during incident at Mahaica gas station

Two men including a 17-year-old were shot and injured early this morning after they reportedly broke into the Ramsarup Guyoil Service Station at Good Hope, Mahaica.

The teen along with a Sophia resident were shot by retired Colonel Chabilall Ramsarup and his son, Arun who had rushed to the location after being told that strange men were seen entering the premises.

Both men were shot in the foot and are currently receiving treatment at the Georgetown Hospital. The two Ramsarups are licensed firearm holders.

This midday, the owner of the service station Rovin Ramsarup told Stabroek News that both men were shot after they launched attacks.
