Six charged after Berbice ganja busts

The court heard that on Wednesday February 16, Paul Wilson, of Tucber Park, NA had in his possession a large quantity of cannabis sativa. It would be called again on February 24.

Police Prosecutor Sergeant Godfrey Playter objected to bail on the nature, gravity and prevalence of the offence. Together, the two had a quantity of drugs weighing 1,520 grammes in their possession. The prosecutor told that court that Wilson and Sampson were passengers in a Toyota Carina motorcar PKK 5848 when they were caught. The car was heading to Georgetown.

According to Playter, the car was stopped and a search was conducted. The marijuana was allegedly found in two parcels; one in his left side pants pocket and the other was strapped to his left thigh.
