Woman on $100,000 bail over Alexander Village road death

A woman was yesterday placed on $100,000 bail after she was arraigned on a charge of causing death by dangerous driving at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The allegation against Indranie Hopkinson, 38, is that on August 17, at Alexander Village, Georgetown, she drove motor car PA 2936 in a manner dangerous to the public, thereby causing the death of Lloyd Kelly.

Hopkinson, who was represented by attorney Basil Williams, pleaded not guilty to charge when it was read to her by acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine–Beharry.

She was subsequently granted bail and the matter was transferred to Court Two for October 24.
