President Bharrat Jagdeo today told a press conference at the Office of the President that he will name the date for general elections “within a week”.
He said he today received a letter from the Chairman of the Guyana Elections Commission, Dr Steve Surujbally advising that the Final List of Electors was ready.
Elections are widely expected to be held towards the end of November. The ruling PPP/C launched its campaign on Sunday at Albion.
