Family suspects foul play in death of Yakusari teen

Relatives of a Yakusari, Black Bush Polder teenager who was found dead a few days ago believe he was murdered after results from a post-mortem examination showed that he died from a broken neck.

Reports are that Junior Reddy, 16, left home around 3:15 pm on his motorcycle to purchase chicken for his grandmother, Taramattie Mohabir but he never returned.

The PM also listed the cause of death as a broken back, internal bleeding and haemorrhage and shock.

The woman said she was waiting on the chicken to prepare for some guests she had at the time but they left around 7 pm and the lad still had not returned.

She became worried and upon inquiring she learnt that he had stopped in at a Chinese restaurant with some friends. She said she did not think her grandson was consuming alcohol because “he was not a person who would drink.”

She along with other relatives decided to make a report to the police.

On their way back, she said they saw the motorcycle at the corner of the road and began to fear the worst.

They continued to comb the area and found the boy’s body a short distance away. Investigations are continuing.
