Police say that at about 0030h today, Mark Ramotar of Best Village, WCD, was involved in a vehicular accident on the Public Road at Agricola, EBD and was later robbed by gunmen.
Ramotar is the Editor-in-Chief of the Guyana Chronicle and was this morning giving a statement to the police on the matter.
Police said that a number of persons in the vicinity went to his assistance during which three men armed with firearms held him up and took away his licensed pistol, jewellery and laptop computer and fled.
Investigations are in progress.
