A three-category draughts tournament will take place today at the National Gymnasium.
According to a press release, the tournament will be run off by the Mindfield Draughts Club an affiliate member of the Guyana Draughts Association.
Over $100,000 in cash prizes, trophies and hampers will be up for grabs and in all the categories the first four finishers will be eligible to receive prizes, the release stated.
The categories to be contested are `A’, `B’ and `C’ and registration will take place between 8am and 10am following which the tournament which will be played on a round robin basis will get underway.
The tournament is being sponsored by Oasis Water, CB General Contracting Services, Kaieteur Springs, Guyana Beverage Inc., Prudential Industrial Technology and Brazo’s Workshop.
