Public life can be difficult for the most resilient among us, so as a lighthearted New Year’s offering to some of our hard-working officials the Sunday Stabroek team has the whole of 2012 mapped out for them in the form of their 2012 horoscopes. Apologies to the many who were left out, but we just did not know their birth dates.
So, here is what some of us can expect during this year:

Libra
You will get mental peace and solutions to your problems.
In the first half of the year the energy level of Libra is quite high and diseases are not likely to occur. In the second half of the year, however, existing illnesses will reveal themselves, or new ones will suddenly appear. Gastric troubles, sleep apnea, arthritis and mental stress indicated till July. Rest of the year will be positive.
Money problems get solved July onwards and developments in career clearly predicted. Promotions and acquisition of luxury goods will be there. The dullness that you have been experiencing for the last 13 months will be removed.
Communication with colleagues from other cities or countries is quite successful. The most successful months of the year are the end of January, February, June, second half of August and October. Conflicts will dominate the whole year and will finally cause serious financial disagreements. The year is favourable for the beginning of new work, which will prove to be more interesting than the previous one, and will have better perspectives. People of creative professions will be especially lucky, as fortune supports their plans entirely.

Cancer
This year indicates major changes in the work sphere and you may change your business or profession. You will be mentally tense throughout the year.
Mental tension and blood pressure related problems surface. This is due to the irregular habits that you have cultivated last year. Health will be better July onwards, however emotional anxiety, stress and insomnia cannot be ruled out.
Be careful in handling accounts and finance in May, June and July. In the second half of the year major expenditure is indicated which may be to diversify or improve existing business or starting a new venture. April, second half of May, September and November will be good for finance and purchase of luxury items.
The changes in professional sphere, begun in the past, will proceed. The second half of the year is especially unfavourable: in October and November Cancer should consider relations with a group of friends and adherents, and to clear up professional and financial situations. It is possible that this will result in separation with some people.
It is advised to be prudent in communications; you can’t trust people that are near. Don’t mix friendship and business affairs as you run a risk of remaining without both money and friends.

Libra
The coming year sees other people playing a bigger role in your life than usual. This may sound unlikely for somebody like yourself, when you are always so focused on the needs and expectations of those around you anyway, but over the next twelve months you’ll see this emphasis turning out to predominate even more than is customary.
Still, although decisions aren’t generally your strongest feature either, you can’t help but sense on occasions it would be wonderful to take an autonomous stance sometimes, without depending quite so much on the whims and fancies of anybody else, or how events panned out in the light of other people’s arrangements and convenience. A more workable balance needs to be established, between a state of affairs where your personal progress relies on everybody else, versus the opposing scenario where you have only selfish interests to worry about.
This journey is a huge learning curve and it takes lots of practice to get the balance correct. The situation is fluid too, so what suited you ideally at one point, won’t necessarily be the best thing down the line.
Saturn continues in your sign throughout this year and the most constructive way of dealing with Saturn’s influence is to accept that its progress is very slow and painstaking.
