Royal Bank of Canada for Suriname premiere

(de Ware Tijd) PARAMARIBO – The Royal Bank of Trinidad & Tobago (RBTT) will formally make place for the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) today. The Canadian bank took over RBTT in June 2008, but let the bank operate under its old logo. Step by step, RBTT was ‘rebranded’ in all the nineteen areas it operated. Bank spokeswoman Angela Guiamo says that as of today, the difference will be noticeable in all offices in Suriname. The logo was changed on the different branches this weekend, and today the client will see this. The new bank colors will be yellow and blue, RBC’s colors. Personnel were also trained during the weekend to get used to the new formula. In fact, the organization is behind schedule, as the rebranding for the Antilles and Suriname had been originally scheduled for late last year. It is Suriname’s turn now, and the Antilles will follow soon. No reason for the delay was given. The takeover of RBTT means that RBC is one of the strongest banks in the region, the Canadian bank claims, with a presence in more than 20 countries from the Bahamas in the north to Suriname in the north. It involves 129 offices with some 7,000 workers and 1.6 million clients. RBC plans to finish the rebranding in all countries late this year.
