Mechanic Marlon Welcome died this morning after being attacked by a man who broke into his Sophia home.
Welcome, 33, of 195 A Field Sophia, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Woodlands Hospital, where he was taken for treatment for a blow he received to his head.
Stabroek News was told that Welcome was awakened in his home around 2:30am, when he heard a noise. He was subsequently confronted by man armed with a piece of wood and was struck to the head.
A relative told Stabroek News that Welcome’s attacker gained entry to the home through a window.
