Dear Editor,
I manage a business based at Le Ressou-venir on the East Coast of Demerara and would like to make an appeal to the relevant authorities to put an immediate stop to the dirt /grass track riding activities and ATV vehicles around this area. There is a band of unruly youths who participate in these activities and sometimes I have observed alcohol being imbibed. They disturb the tranquility of the environment and many times I have had to ask my security to warn them of the dangers of speeding on the concrete road outside of our premises. Many times our forklift drivers have come close to collision with these vehicles and one of these days I fear for the worst.
I therefore appeal to the Police and any other relevant Government authority or NDC to put a stop to this.
I believe these youngsters should organize themselves into a formal club if not already done and approach the Government or NDC for a suitable place to pursue their interests.
