Two in custody after Kitty robbery

Two men are in custody after they were caught by police shortly after allegedly committing a knife point robbery in Kitty. Police said in a press release yesterday that at around 1100 hours Andrew Hooper, 26 years, of Dowding Street, Kitty, Georgetown, was at Dowding Street when he was held up by two men on a bicycle, one of whom was armed with a knife.

The men took away a cell phone from the victim and escaped.

“Members of a police mobile patrol in the area responded quickly to the report and gave chase behind the perpetrators who abandoned the bicycle in their bid to evade capture”, the release said adding that the men were however arrested by the police and the cell phone was recovered.
The men will be charged shortly.
