New voir dire starts in taxi driver murder trial

The trial of murdered taxi driver Seeraji Singh continued yesterday in the High Court before Justice Roxane George with another voir dire involving the number two accused Naresh Boodhoo.

The voir dire began with Detective Assistant Superintendent Michael Kingston giving his testimony.

Defence lawyer Peter Hugh who represented Boodhoo then cross-examined Kingston.

During the last hearing, a voir dire involving the number one accused, Anandram Dhanraj was concluded with Justice George ruling that the statements taken from Dhanraj could be admitted as evidence in the trial.

Boodhoo, Dhanraj and Hemraj Boodhwah are charged with the murder of Singh during the month of February 2006.

The trial will continue tomorrow in the High Court.
