Man killed in Kingston accident still unidentified

The body of the man who was struck down on Monday evening at Camp Road and Young Street was transferred to the Lykens Funeral Parlour and he remains unidentified.

According to police, the man was attempting to cross the road when he was struck down by motor vehicle PPP 152 which was travelling in a western direction. The driver of the vehicle is 19 years of age and a resident of Eccles, East Bank Demerara.

Police further stated that the driver implicated has since been released on substantive cash surety as investigations continue.

The middle-aged male, about 5’ 7” in height and of African descent had greying hair and was wearing a blue and grey striped shirt marked ‘Honda Hyundai’ with blue denim jeans and black and brown shoes.

According to an official of the St Joseph Mercy Hospital, the man was taken there by the driver of the vehicle that struck him down.

He was in an unconscious state upon arrival at the hospital and was taken into the emergency room where life-saving measures commenced immediately. The medical team attempted to save the man’s life but to no avail.
