A man was chopped to death and a teenaged girl was brutally hacked at Big Creek Backdam, North West District around midnight yesterday after her lover caught her with the other man.
The 16-year-old was air-dashed to the Georgetown Hospital around noon and is currently undergoing surgery.
Stabroek News was unable to ascertain the identity of the dead man. The girl is listed as critical.
Details of the incident are sketchy but this newspaper was told that the girl’s lover travelled to the area unknowing to her and found her and the other man in a compromising position.
The man reportedly went berserk and began chopping the two. This newspaper was told that the girl sustained multiple chop wounds to her body.
A team of police investigators travelled to the scene early this morning to conduct investigations.
