Golden Jagaurs to face full-strength Mexico in World Cup Qualifiers

Mexico are taking nothing for granted by selecting their best possible squad for the opening third round qualifiers against Guyana and El Salvador next month.

According to a press release from  the Mexican Football Federation, the “El Trico” currently ranked 20th in the world in the FIFA rankings have selected a strong 23-man contingent that will be coached by Jose Manuel de la Torre.

Among those selected are all of their major world stars, including captain and former Barcelona defender Rafael Marquez, Manchester United striker Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez and Tottenham Hotspurs winger Giovanni Dos Santos.

They will face the Golden Jaguars at the Estadio Azteca on June 8 and El Salvador on June 12 respectively.

Before venturing into those qualifiers, the Mexicans have three international friendly fixtures versus Wales, Bosnia and Herzegovina and five-time World Cup winners Brazil on neutral turf in the United States on May 23, 27h and June 3.
