Police find grenade on man in Charlestown

Police say that at about 0005h today ranks of a mobile police patrol stopped and searched two men who were walking along Broad Street, Charlestown.

An unlicensed .32 pistol with five rounds, a hand-grenade and a toque mask were found in a haversack that one of them was carrying, the police said.

The men have been arrested and are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
