Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan yesterday announced that she will rule next month on whether a prima facie case has been made out against the three accused in the Kaieteur News grenade attack.
It is alleged that Leroy Williams, Janeil Howard and Alfie Garraway on June 4, at Saffon Street, Charlestown, conspired together with other persons to cause an explosion by way of grenade, likely to endanger lives and cause damage to property.
When the matter was called yesterday, Police Prosecutor Neville Jeffers was ready to make his submission, but this was deferred by the chief magistrate as the defence’s lawyers were absent.
At the last hearing, attorneys Stanley Moore, who represents Garraway, and Neil Bollers, who represents Williams, laid over their submissions.
Chief Magistrate McLennan said yesterday that she would be ready to make a ruling in the matter after the prosecution’s oral submissions on January 5. The matter was later adjourned until then.
