TORONTO, Canada, CMC – Barbadian Patrick Husbands continued to cling to the lead at Woodbine racetrack despite going winless in two rides on Wednesday’s eight-race mid-week card.
The 39-year-old continues on top the standings with 44 wins but is now just three clear of reigning champion Luis Contreras who has picked up the pace in recent meets.
However, Husbands stood tall on Sunday’s eight-race programme, reeling off two victories to send a stern warning to his rivals. He captured the CAN$56 100 race five aboard the favourite Estella before returning in the $70 300 race six to boot home another odds-on bet, Spirited Miss.
