Carib Feedback Productions Company will stage Ras Leon Saul’s play Shango & Da Golden Scheme on Emancipation weekend.
According to a press release, the play tells the “musically infused story” of a teenage singer, Hope Banigan, who is struggling to find herself and her roots, while fulfilling her dream of becoming a singing sensation. But this is against her father’s wishes.
Hope leaves home and meets up with Li Min Shang aka Shango, a sought-after music producer.
The twists and turns of the play involve Hope’s father who has a dream of building a “green car” made from hemp, kidnapping and double-crossing.
Auditions for the play are being held today from 3 pm at 78 Garnett Street, Lamaha Gardens the press release related.
