Initial reports are that Khan was going to pick up one of his cousins when he was confronted by another teen and a fight ensued, during which he was stabbed and left on the street with a gaping wound. Da Silva was later apprehended by police ranks.

Khan would have celebrated his 18th birthday yesterday. The dead teen’s sister, Aaliyah Khan, told Stabroek News that in memory of her brother they fed the poor and donated several items, as acts of charity, to a mosque. She added that they also revisited the site where her brother was murdered and marked it to signify their mourning.
