Dear Editor,
It seems as though the Police Complaints Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs only handles ‘special’ cases against the police. I am kindly asking that the relevant authorities look into the East La Penitence Police Station, as these officers of the law seem not to know their true function. They have no investigative skills and do not know how to be objective and unbiased. There are officers on duty without identification on their uniforms. The telephone seems to be falling apart, when all that is required is a fault report to GT&T which I am sure will move immediately to have it fixed. They do not follow up on reports. They hardly ever have a vehicle to visit a scene. They are very complacent and uncooperative. Yes, we understand that they have a tedious task but that is part of what they signed up for. Please tell me what is the reason for having them there if they cannot function?
