Uncle further cross-examined at Mark Solomon murder PI

The preliminary inquiry (PI) into the murder of Mark Solomon at McDoom continued on Friday in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before acting Chief  Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry. Detective Superintendant Morgan Chalmers and Rudolph Austin, the uncle of the deceased, once again took to the stand for further cross-examination.

The prosecutor announced that there are about ten more witnesses left to testify.

The PI continues on July 24.

Mark Solomon

Sheldon Bowen, 36, of Water Street, Bagotstown, East Bank Demerara and Leon Munroe, 29, are accused of the June 12 murder of Solomon.

The jointly charged duo has not been required to plead to the capital offence.

According to reports, a fight between the men began at the Pritipaul Singh Investments (PSI) complex and ended in Cross Street, McDoom, where the bloody scene told the story of the violence.

Solomon died before reaching the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) with wounds that included a slit throat.

Solomon called ‘Taunty’, 36, of Non Pariel Street, Albouystown, had in the past featured on the undercard of several professional fights locally.
