Pine Hill Dairy facing milk glut

(Barbados Nation) The Pine Hill Dairy (PHD) is scrambling to get rid of 60 000 cases of unsold milk and has reportedly turned to Government for assistance.

Informed sources told the SUNDAY SUN that PHD representatives had met with Government officials last week to discuss the distressing situation which could result in the loss of millions of dollars if the milk is not sold by the end of the year.

When contacted on Friday and asked about the meeting with Government, Richard Cozier, chief executive officer of parent company Banks Holdings Ltd, tersely responded: “I will not comment on anything like that.”

He also declined to say whether PHD had 60 000 cases stored at its Newton, Christ Church bond.
