Member organizations of Facing the Future (FtF) said yesterday that they wished to record their sadness at the passing of Hugh Cholmondeley, while conveying their sincere condolences to his grieving family, a press release from the FtF sponsoring organizations stated.
The FtF also noted that compared to his life-long involvement in promoting domestic broadcasting and later international development and conflict resolution, his involvement with a grouping such as theirs may be less noteworthy.
However, making his professional experience available to NGOs after retirement reflects a side of his personality which is rare and should be applauded.
Facing the Future sponsoring organizations are Amerindian Peoples Association (APA), Church Women United (CWU), Commonground Community-Based Rehabilitation –EBD, Guyana Council of Churces (GCC), Guyana Human Rights Association (GHRA), Guyana Society for the Blind, Guyana Workers Union (GWU), Institute of Development Studies (IDS), Rights of Children (ROC), Red Thread, Vilvoorden Women’s Organization.
