Despite not winning a single match, Barbados accumulated 45.5 points including a tournament-high 18.5 bonus points and 27 match points. Guyana finished runners up with 38 points including two wins with 33 match points but only 5 bonus points.

Needing 85 for victory in a minimum of 16 overs, Barbados ended on 28 without loss when the match was called off after 12 of the mandatory 15 overs.

Earlier, resuming at one for two and still trailing by 74 runs, Guyana’s slide continued with two quick wickets.

Dexter George was snapped up at short-leg off Akeem Jordan and Chandrapaul Hemraj was brilliantly caught at second slip by Craig St. Hill moving to his left off Darnell Greenidge.

Greenidge claimed three for 35 and Jordan three for 22.

Kamesh Yadram and Mohan Ramdeen then dropped anchor and carried it to lunch at 57 for four with Yadram 29 and Ramdeen four.

With no addition to his total, Yadram was trapped lbw by Chad Williams after lunch, to end a stand of 43 for the fifth-wicket.

Ramdeen and Shawn Pereira solidified the good work adding another 43 and ensured Guyana passed the deficit with five wickets down.

Ramdeen with a polished knock of 66, kept the low-order together with some positive strokes.

However, Pereira had his stumps flattened as he pushed forward to a faster ball from Williams who took three for 44.

Ricardo Adams played a reverse-sweep for six off Williams but skied the next ball too long-on.

Ramdeen fell seven minutes to tea lbw sweeping at Chaim Holder after facing 165 deliveries, in three hours and striking eight boundaries.

The last three wickets added 47 vital runs and halted Barbados’ quest for victory.

Greenidge and Jordan earned a wicket each with the second new ball to end the defiance.
