Signing of Linden pacts postponed over hitch

The official signing ceremony for the agreements reached last Friday between the Region Ten delegation and the government with regards to the Linden crisis was today postponed following a last minute glitch.

The glitch surrounding the postponement has to do with the Terms of Reference of the Commission of Inquiry into the shooting to death of three protestors by police on July 18. The Region is holding to the position that this issue must be resolved before the signing can take place.

Head of the presidential Secretariat Dr. Roger Luncheon in apologizing to members of the media for the inconvenience said that the “minor matter” should be rectified tomorrow following which the signing will take place at 5 pm.
