Father of one on $75,000 bail over ganja possession

A 35-year-old man was yesterday placed on $75,000 bail when he was brought before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court for allegedly being in possession of nine grammes of cannabis.

Vibert Tony of 61 Queen Street, Kitty, denied the allegation against him which stated that on August 20 he had in his possession nine grammes of cannabis.

Attorney Paul Fung-A-Fat made an appearance on the defendant’s behalf and applied for reasonable bail and the prosecution had no objection.

The father of one was placed on $75,000 bail after the court heard the case.

Tony is scheduled to return to Court One of the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on October 1.
