A Mahdia businessman was Thursday night held at gunpoint and robbed of more than $8M in cash and raw gold and up to press time last night the three perpetrators were still at-large.

Police said in a press release yesterday that at about 11:45pm on Thursday businessman Theodore Singh, 32, and a worker were talking at his business place at 11 Miles, Mahdia, when they were held up by three men, two of whom were armed with firearms. The other robber was armed with a cutlass.

The perpetrators took away $6M and 8 ounces of raw gold, worth around $2.6M, from Singh and they escaped, the release said, adding that investigations are in progress.
