‘Super Cat’ celebrates thirteen years

Later this evening, the Transport Sports Club will come alight when East Coast Demerara crooner, Super Cat and his one man band celebrate its 13th anniversary.

The event, dubbed the ‘Oldies Dance of the year’, will feature several other one-man bands, including Love Vibrations, Super Ray and Blue Ribbon the Boss, all seasoned one-man band campaigners.

According to the Super Cat, whose real name is Andrew Dundas, admission to the show this evening is “easy” and he noted that patrons can expect a number of attractions at the event.

The event kicks-off at 7 pm but patrons can ease their way into the venue since the night will be long, the crooner noted, and the music will be playing all night.

He said hits of yesteryear along with today’s up tempo beats will permeate the atmosphere when the bands take the stage at the Transport Sports Club on Thomas Lands.

Super Cat has been travelling across the country and the Caribbean since he entered the music scene 13 years ago. While this year is his 13th, Super Cat has been entertaining audiences since his teenage years.

He and his one –man band, which includes himself and a lone keyboard specialist who runs the beats, can be heard not only on the coastland but in all 10 administrative regions since promoters started to ferry him to various parts of the country including Kwakwani, Port Kaituma, Mabaruma, Mahdia, Orealla and Lethem among other areas.

He said recently he has been travelling frequently to Guyana’s hinterland as more persons are requesting his music at social events at various interior communities.

He has played in Trinidad and Tobago as well as Barbados at the request of locals.
