A 24-year-old clerk was robbed of $3.1 million while in the back seat of a motorcar at Alexander Village yesterday.
According to police, around 08:15 hrs, Trevor Atkinson of Crane, West Coast Demerara, a clerk attached to AH&L Kissoon Limited, was in the rear seat of a car that had stopped at a major road along Alexander Village Access Road. Police say that a man armed with a firearm approached the vehicle and took away the bag containing the money.
Atkinson was on his way to the bank.
Police investigations are in progress.
