A 50-year-old man was killed on Wednesday after the branches of a tree he was cutting struck him on the head.
Police gave the dead man’s name as Brian Smith of Aishalton Village, South Rupununi.
According to a press release, the incident occurred around 12:30 hrs at Bush Mouth, Aishalton.
Investigations have revealed that Smith was cutting a tree with a power saw, when branches struck him on the head as they fell, the release said. Smith was later pronounced dead on arrival at the Aishalton Hospital.
