Victory for Obama is victory for us here in Guyana

Dear Editor,

The last debate in the US Presidential debates saw Mr Obama as the clear winner and I would venture to say that on that night, he won the election for sure; Mr Obama looked and acted presidential right through the debate and all of his supporters, both inside and outside the United States, millions upon millions, are extremely proud and energized for his victory on election night.

Victory for Obama is victory for us here in Guyana because his international and national policies will ultimately help all Guyanese, whether they live here or abroad, especially those in America; four more years of Obama’s vision and hands on leadership will shape our world with new, bold initiatives which will strengthen peace and democracy everywhere on our planet and lead to an economic resurgence of private enterprise capitalism based on human needs and goodwill to all. Look at the work Bill Gates is doing worldwide to help the poor and suffering and he will have many billions at his disposal when Warren Buffet dies as he has left his fortune of 80 billion to be distributed by the Bill Gates foundation; these extremely wealthy men are but a few of the very rich who feel the need to give their fortunes to help the poor and, by the way, these men are firm supporters of President Obama.

Editor, Mr Obama is as American as apple pie and he understands the need for change in the American economic system and change is already occurring; look at the great work Obama’s special task forces are doing to flush out the predatory and corrupt Guyanese lawyers, real estate brokers and bank employees in New York, almost all of them blood-sucking the poor hard working Guyanese; these task forces, mandated by Obama’s policies, are targeting, and rightly so, criminal white collar activity in differing Diasporas, Guy-anese  being just one of them.

Yes, change is coming in America and around the world in Obama’s second term; the re-contouring of American capitalism and the revival of a more humane world because Obama is one of us, a man of his word, not driven by corruption or greed, not driven by power or privilege, not driven by race or religion but driven by strong political morality and  a sense of fair play and God’s truth in his voice.

Obama will usher in a new, more humane American capitalism and, in the next four years, with the US economy strengthening and Obama’s interface with the world expanding, peace and stability will be the order of the day, over most of our planet.

Yours faithfully,
Cheddi(Joey)Jagan(Jr.)
