Port Kaituma accident victim now conscious

Fifteen-year-old Pauline Williams, who was involved in an accident at Port Kaituma, is now in a stable condition in the High Dependency Unit (HDU) of the Georgetown Hospital.

Williams sustained internal and spinal injuries but is now conscious and alert, hospital officials said on Saturday.

Edna Leon, 36, and Pauline Williams, 15, both of the North West District and Harry Burnett, of Stevedore Housing Scheme, East Ruimveldt, were in a pick-up that toppled several times after the driver lost control.

Burnett was treated and discharged while Leon of Arakaka sustained a broken left knee cap. She also complained of pain in her stomach and knee which is now swollen. Leon also said that she hopes to be discharged from the hospital soon.
