Police said that at about 0940h yesterday, ranks of the Police Narcotics Branch at the Ogle Airport, ECD, acting upon information received, conducted a search on the cargo belonging to Anthony Thompson, 29 years, of Independence Boulevard, La Penitence who was on a local flight to Imbaimadai, Mazaruni.
Police said that a total of 3 kilograms, 378 grams of compressed marijuana was found concealed in the hollow part of a chair.
Thompson was charged with trafficking in narcotics and appeared before Magistrate Alex Moore at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court today, where he was placed on $600,000 bail for court on January 14, 2012.
