(Reuters) Thirteen suspected illegal immigrants— from Colombia, Haiti, Brazil and the Bahamas — were taken into custody late Sunday after they came ashore aboard a 22-foot Boston Whaler AT Jupiter Beach, Jupiter police said.
The incident happened just after 9 pm in the 2000 block of AIA, between Ocean Way and the Bluffs, said Officer Adam Brown, Jupiter police spokesman. Five of the subjects were seen getting into a nearby vehicle after they arrived on shore. Police soon stopped the vehicle and took them into custody. The others were found in the trees and bushes along the beach, Brown said.
