Third charge against Bond dismissed

Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry dismissed the case against APNU youth activist and attorney-at-law James Bond yesterday after the virtual complainant declined to proceed with the matter when it was called in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard that on January 7, at East Ruimveldt, Bond unlawfully damaged one barber chair valued $140,000; the property of Adrian Williams.

The VC, a 29-year-old barber and teacher, told the court that he did not wish to give evidence against Bond.

Two other charges: use of threatening language and assault levelled against Bond were dismissed at his last court appearance.
