The Mayor and City Council’s Finance Committee failed to present the annual budget yesterday as expected, because of the administration’s inability to complete the documentation.
When Stabroek News contacted Acting Deputy Mayor, Patricia Chase-Green, she said that if this part of the process could be completed by today then the presentation could be made early next week.
“The budget was supposed to be presented to council today [yesterday] but the administration called and said they were not completed with the documentation so it has been postponed,” she said.
She said the stalling by the administration is very frustrating.
