Alpha United face Rosignol test

Leaders Alpha United should face a stern test from Rosignol United this evening at the Georgetown Football Club ground in one of five matches of the Guyana Football Federation Super League tournament.

The two teams will clash from 6.30pm in the lone game at that venue.

United’s line up will include skipper Howard Lowe, Abassy Mc Pherson, Manasseh Primo, Shevane Seaforth, Quincy Madramootoo, Kevin Mc Kenzie and goalkeeper Richie Richards.

They will, however, be without Anthony `Awo’ Abrams, Daniel Wilson, Kris Comacho and Andrew Murray who are all members of the national team which will be going to French Guiana.

Rosignol will have in their lineup Tyson Carmichael, Olvis Mitchell, Travis Henry, Delroy Fraser and Gaston Barker.

At the Uitvlugt Ground commencing at 1.45pm, Sewall and Western Tigers will start the ball rolling. Both teams have one win after two games but Seawall won their game not on the field, but by way of protest against Pele, whilst Tigers defeated Buxton in their last game.

Seawall will depend on Delyon Josiah, Clement Brown, Toine Lopes, Adami Hoyte and Marvin Griffith in goal while Western Tigers will look to Devon Millington, Dwayne Ali, Sherman David, Jerome Richardson, Daniel Favourite, Paul Giles and Phillip Rowley.

In the second game at the venue, Den Amstel and Pele will meet from 3:45pm, Den Amstel, with one win, will strive to increase their points tally with a win against Pele who demolished Seawall 7-1, only to lose that game after Seawall protested the inclusion of national striker Gregory `Jackie Chan’ Richardson.

Den Amstel will depend heavily on their leading goal scorer Andre Hector who scored six goals in the preliminary round, Gideon Payne, Rondel Hutson, Kester Jacobs, Aubrey Cummings and Travis Hilliman. Pele on the other hand, will depend heavily on Travis Grant, Kanata Manning, Marvin Joseph, Solomon Austin, Shawn Arthur and Shemroy Arthur in goal.

And in Linden at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) Ground, Buxton and Amelia’s Ward will lock horns from 6pm. Buxton will depend on Keoma Sullivan, Travis Phyll, Les Charles Critchlow, Denvir Dennis and Esan Hamer in an effort to score their first points of the tournament.

Amelia’s Ward will have in their lineup Travis Waterton, Jermain Corlette, Nathaniel Giddings, Kenroy Thom and Rayon Fraser.

In the final game set for 8pm, Milerock and Victoria Kings will bring the curtain down. Victoria Kings will depend on Pierre Joseph, Winston Pompey, Aubrey Gibson, Calvin De Souza, Sherlock Dowden and Andrew Williams in goal.

Milerock, who is also unbeaten in the Super League, will have in their lineup Ryan Crandon, Marlon Maxius, Kevin Sullivan, Kieron Cameron, Randy Jerome, Steve Breweley and Clive Nobrega.
