Duke, Clarke, Fortune to defend titles at bodybuilding contest

Canada-based former Mr. Guyana Eustace ‘Robocop’ Abrams is one of two guest posers expected at this year’s bodybuilding championships where Clint Duke, Kerwin Clark, Alisha fortune and others are expected to defend their titles.

Abrams and Canadian National Heavyweight Female Masters Champion Tananarive McGowan and are expected to woo patrons and steal the spotlight in tomorrow night’s show at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

Over 30 bodybuilders are expected to compete at the Guyana Bodybuilding Championships dubbed ‘Rise of The Machines’ including reigning Mr Guyana Clint Duke, reigning Hugh Ross Classic (HRC) welterweight and overall winner and CAC bronze medallist, Kerwin Clarke; CAC gold medallist, Devon Davis; HRC Michael Dos Santos; Rudolph Blackman (2010 Novice overall winner) Aliston Lancaster (Flex Night Berbice overall winner}, Roscoe Joseph (2010 Novice Lightweight champ).

Curtis McKenzie of Curtis Workout will compete in the Men’s Body Fitness category. The female segment of competition will be headlined by Alicia Fortune, reigning Ms Body Fitness and three-time HRC Ms Physique; along with Nadina Taharally, 2012 HRC Ms. Figure.

In addition to the prizes sponsored by Fitness Express, Digital Technologies will be offering a flat screen television set to the overall winner.

Tickets cost $1000 and they can be purchased at local gyms and at Fitness Express. Other sponsors for the event include Giftland OfficeMax, Banks DIH Limited, Sterling Products, Subs and Salads, DeSinco Trading under the New Degree brand and Kross Kolor Records.
