The man, who was discovered dead at Mousie Backdam, Potaro, with his head submerged in a drum of water, has been identified by members of his family.
The man was identified as Rudolph Williams, of Mabaruma, North West District, police said, while noting that investigations into his death are in progress.
The identification came after police requested the help of the general public in identifying the man, who was found on January 1.
