Miner accused of annoying neighbour with loud music

A miner accused of playing his music loudly to the annoyance of his neighbour was yesterday released on self bail when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
It is alleged that on January 16, at Quamina Street, Claude Jordan played loud music to the annoyance of Raymond Khan.

Jordan who resides at Lot 309 Quamina Street, South Cummingsburg pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him by Magistrate Leron Daly.
When asked by the magistrate the prosecution stated that the facts were as stated.

The lawyer who represented Jordan explained that the houses are built closely to each other. She stressed that her client has been very considerate towards Khan’s religious practices.

She added that her client does not pose a flight risk, and had no pending or previous matter. The prosecution had no objection to the defendant being granted his pre-trial liberty.

After listening to submissions, the magistrate granted the defendant’s pre-trial liberty.

The matter will continue on February 25.
