Israel hits Syria arms convoy to Lebanon -sources

BEIRUT,  (Reuters) – Israeli jets bombed a convoy near Syria’s border with Lebanon early today, sources told Reuters, apparently targeting weapons destined for Hezbollah in what some called a warning to Damascus not to arm Israel’s Lebanese enemy.

Bulk of Timbuktu manuscripts safe, unharmed -experts

DAKAR,  (Reuters) – The vast majority of Timbuktu’s ancient manuscripts in state and private collections appear to be unharmed after the Malian Saharan city’s 10-month occupation by Islamist rebel fighters, who burnt some of the scripts, experts said today.

China Harbour in $5M upgrade of Windsor Forest Primary

China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), the contractor for the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA), Timehri expansion, spent approximately five million dollars to improve the facilities at the Windsor Forest Primary School, West Coast Demerara, Region 3, a release from the company said yesterday.
