Trial underway for accused in labourer’s murder

Robert Abrahim, who allegedly pushed a cutlass down the throat of Ganesh Singh, is being tried for murder before Justice Dawn Gregory in the High Court.
The trial began yesterday after a jury was empanelled earlier in the week.

Abrahim is accused of killing Singh, a labourer, on January 11, 2008, at Long Creek. Singh was allegedly involved in an argument with the accused, who pushed a cutlass into his mouth. Abrahim is represented by attorney Hukumchand.

State prosecutors Diana Kaulesar and Renita Singh presented two police witnesses to the court and the remaining witnesses are expected to testify on Monday when the case continues.
